If probable cause exists, a test will be orderedIRA Thanks to Marumoto legislation now Roth IRAs can no longer be seized by the State in cases of bankruptcy. Its was protected on the federal level and now its protected on the state level.A/C Representative Marumoto obtained A/C - air conditioning for the Kalani High Administration Building and an elevator for the 2nd floor library. She can also claim credit for many improvements to neighborhood schools - playground equipment, fencing, new classrooms, and electrical upgrades. For Leahi Hospital she obtained re-roofing and new elevators.PBDE A Marumoto bill calls for a ban on manufacturing with polybrominated diphenol ethers, a type of plastic, because of possible adverse effects on babies. American women show high incidences of PBDE in breast milk. Europe and a few states have also banned manufacturing with this substance. DOE A Marumoto resolution passed calling for a Department of Education pilot project for open source software. This is a money-saving idea.Pick-Up Trucks Barbara led the campaign for a ban on children riding in pickup truck beds. Another bill provided a $25 tax credit for the purchase of a keiki car seat. She secured appropriations to supplement the brown tree snake prevention program, got lots of funds for Diamond Head Crater trails and safety improvements, money for additional personnel for a tree planting program and KCC maintenance.SPRB Barbara got a $20 Million private bond authorization (Special Purpose Revenue Bond) for Pacific Rehabilitation Hospital.
